When it rains, it pours cooked food. The past few days are proof positive that if I want to live a raw lifestyle, I must be 100% raw. I’m a bit terrified of that because I really really like cream in my coffee and while I’m not sure I even desire to give up coffee, [...]

Cooked Confessions
Today’s cooked food: beans and Parmesan cheese in my salad; a small handful of potato chips; a teeny cup of ice cream…. ggrrrrrr….
I’m still proud of myself though because I was very very tempted to eat some of my vegan lentil stew (which I’d intended to make veggie with some cheese, but decided not to). [...]

Not Too Bad
Okay, here’s what I actually ate today:
1 Quart Green smoothie (cabbage, kale, 1/2 nectarine, 1/2 banana, pineapple, raspberries, water)
Tomato Salad
Green salad
Coffee w/ cream
Several bites of vegan lentil stew (but not enough to constitute a bowl)
Vegetable chowder slightly heated
6oz raspberries
So, I only had a tiny bit of cooked. I’m rather proud of that. I need to [...]

Would It Make a Difference?
From Storm and Jinjee’s documentary “Breakthrough”:

Dinner Tonight
Oooh, I’m excited! I finished Victoria Boutenko’s 12 Steps to Raw Foods. She has a recipe in the back of the book for chowder and I thought I’d try it out. Here’s the recipe for the base with my own touches added in:
Blend 1 cup walnuts with 1 cup water until smooth.
Add:
1 [...]

Step One: Admitting that You Have a Problem
Victoria Boutenko’s “12 Steps” is a bit like AA’s steps in that you have to start out by recognizing that you have a food addiction and then admit to it. I have no problem with that.
I am addicted to cooked foods.
Here’s how I know:
1. Even though I know that eating 100% raw is the best [...]

Will I Ever Be Raw?
I am totally and completely convinced of the health benefits of raw food. I really want to transition from my cooked vegetarian diet to a 100% raw vegan diet. I’ve tried to do this many times before without too much success. Well, I don’t want to be negative from the start- I’ve [...]
